Yau Ma Tei and Jordan

Temple Street and the old fruit market

Yau Ma Tei is older Kowloon: a night market, a Tin Hau temple and a wholesale fruit market that has been there since 1913.

Temple Street takes its name from the Tin Hau Temple, and its market comes alive after 7:00 p.m. with clothing, handbags, watches and food stalls. Tin Hau Temple stands on Temple Street near Public Square Street.

Yau Ma Tei Theatre, built in 1930, is the only surviving pre-war theatre in the urban area. Yau Ma Tei Wholesale Fruit Market was built in 1913 and sits between Waterloo Road, Reclamation Street and Shek Lung Street.

Kubrick, a bookshop and cafe, is on Public Square Street's side of Prosperous Garden.
